The Kumbh Mela (the festival of the sacred pitcher) is anchored in Hindu mythology. It is the largest public gathering and collective act of faith, anywhere in the world. The Mela draws tens of millions of pilgrims over the course of approximately 48 days to bathe at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, the Yamuna, and the mystical Sarasvati. Primarily, this congregation includes Ascetics, Saints, Sadhus, Sadhvis, Kalpvasis, and Pilgrims from all walks of life.

I never had the chance to live in a non-democratic society. Back in the 2010's election, my eight year old self would be found singing along to the rhythm of candidatorial advertisement jingles. If somebody would ask me about my government preference way back, I would have questioned why our country has a Democratic type of government. Why not a monarchial one? With princesses, big gowns, and horses. I was very…

Four a.m. Seated in front of the computer. I am just from bed, where I had been tossing and turning for hours, looking for sleep that was seriously evading me like the plague. This is not the first time. I should honestly sit it down and have a mature conversation. We can’t go into the new year with this dispute still ongoing. Anyway, maybe I should thank sleep for playing so hard to get because now, here I am, writing. Here I am sharing what’s on my mind with you, hoping that you…Continue

Democracy is a system of governance where a respected rule of law exists which explicitly defines the role of not only the citizens in which it governs, but the role of civil servants such the president, senators, etc. Democracy encourages individuals' rights and citizen engagement (i.e., voting, opinions). A democracy has a functioning bureaucracy and views no one as above the…Continue

Democracy: An End to Gender Discrimination
Glued to the television screen, I waited in anticipation for the 2016 U.S. presidential election results between Republican Party representative Donald Trump and Democratic Party representative Hillary Clinton. Deep down, I had the slightest hope that we would have our first female president. Clinton’s nomination as…Continue

Is it important to live in a democracy?
Such a rhetorical question brings to my mind the material of the school curriculum about democracy and other forms of power. Many articles and scientific works are written about it, but in practice, in the…Continue

Democracy is premised on the normative notion that all people are equal in terms of their political rights. This in turn stipulates that citizenship in a democracy confers on each person a set of enumerated rights and obligations that ultimately also shape a larger community of people imbued with shared values. It is this aspect of democracy that makes it the…Continue

There are two forms of government that is Monarch and Democratic.
The difference between the two is that
1- In monarch you work under someone.
In democracy someone works according to your wish.
2- Leaders became generation wise.
Leaders are made according to the will of the citiens.
3- It is nearly impossible to remove the leaders.
Citizen don't vote to the bad leader and he or she can't win any election anymore.

All human history is permeated with the search for a political ideal. This search is based on social differentiation. It is the social stratification that motivates the search for a political ideal, and each stratum represents a political ideal in its own way. At the heart of this view, as social Sciences prove, are the personal interests of each social group, not the whole society. And the higher the social group takes a position in the social hierarchy, the more influential it…Continue

Though once called a perversion of constitutional government by Aristotle, democracy is now lauded by the United Nations as a universal core value. But the rise of Communist China onto the world stage as a fierce economic competitor and potential superpower, as well as the rise of the alt-right in stable democracies has scholars questioning if democracy is indeed the final form of government, or if it is merely an imperfect Western…Continue

Living in a democracy is one of the most important aspects of a country. Democracy is the ability to choose your leaders in fair and free elections. If that is not part of your government, you do not live in a democracy. However, there are…Continue

In my opinion, Democracy is the internal vigor of patriotism through the empowerment of implementation of the maximum power of mass people including the representatives with positive approach towards patriotism and excluding the representatives with negative approach towards patriotism. Here, I have included negative and positive approach towards patriotism because where there is politics, there will be both effect which are unavoidable complexity. Now-a-days the scenarios of democratic…Continue
