MONEY IN PLASTICS

"Considering how much wasted plastic is polluting the earths surface and its dispersion at sea is killing the whales and other sea mammals, this guy is doing a good job not only for himself but for others too."

The Circulation of money and basis of the mechanical model representation

"This model was the result of a lot of thought and analysis to determine the closest fit to this criterion. It is explained and used for analysis in my 310 page book "Consequential Macroeconomics--Rationalizing About how our Social system…"

THE SOLUTION TO OUR WIDENING POVERTY GAP

The greatest social problem that we are experiencing today is the growing difference between the poor and the rich and we have learned to accept it. But it is at terrible cost in separation and the associated feelings of anger, depression and helplessness, between the people who have jobs that provide stable incomes with comfortable homes and those who don't and can't. The practical solution here is driving me nuts! Many governments have made progress in easing this injustice--some changes have…See More

"The proposal to tax land values as described above, for all its socially just and ethical nature, is unlikely to find acceptance in politics due to the strong influence in opposing it from the land owners. Here is a long-term solution to this…"

What I would like to see happen during this century to make the world a better place

INTRODUCTION

Although land is generally treated as if it were capital, it was not created by Man. In particular, our land is a gift of nature (if not of a Higher Authority) and we have it on trust. Before very many people lived on this land it was almost worthless. Its…

HILLEL AND THE TAXMAN

Hillel the Elder’s fame rests on his use of logic for deriving Talmudic law and this talent also relates to his three questions about Jewish moral behavior (see: ”Avot” or “Ethics of the Fathers”, Chapter 1 verse 14). These questions are presented below. They are applicable to many attitudes and responses that individuals take and also pertain to the community at large. Amongst the public and social money matters, this includes a nations’ methods for…

I am a retired engineer (M.Sc. in aeronautics with several technical papers published internationally), who has more recently been working on a book about macroeconomics theory. I find that the current knowledge and teaching about this subject have been corrupted. Following my research, I wish to open and enlarge the subject of macroeconomics as an more exact science, which is comprehensive to a larger and simplified degree.

As a life-long member of the Georgists, I am concerned with the degree of poverty that exists, even within wealthy nations, and I see the way to eliminate this according to Henry George's ethical teachings. (Also see http://www.progress.org and its various links.)

Roadmap to Hell: Sex, Drugs and Guns on the Mafia Coast, with Barbie Latza Nadeau

Rome-based journalist Barbie Latza Nadeau tells the horrifying story of the thousands of Nigerian women and girls duped into being trafficked to Italy, where they are forced to become sex slaves, drug mules, or weapons smugglers. How can this be stopped? The Nigerian government turns a blind eye, Libya, the transit point, is a failed state, and Italy is overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of migrants--plus prostitution is legal there.

The Rohingya Crisis in Bangladesh, with BRAC's Muhammad Musa

Muhammad Musa is executive director of BRAC, which is working with the one million Rohingya refugees living in camps in Bangladesh. He describes the problems there, including growing tensions with the host community and the threat of the coming monsoon season, which may bring floods and landslides. He looks forward to the day when the Rohingya can go home to Myanmar, but this can only occur with the help of the international community.

Democracy Promotion in the Age of Trump

In this panel Adrian Basora makes a strong case for democracy as not only promoting American values but also serving U.S. interests, while Maia Otarashvili gives a frightening overview of the rise of "illiberal values" (Viktor Orbán's phrase) in the Eurasia region. Basora and Otarashvili are co-editors of "Does Democracy Matter? The United States and Global Democracy Support" and Nikolas Gvosdev is one of the contributors.
