Their fear of the storm was not greater than the hunger of their families.
Sometimes the fishermen hardly takes heed to the warnings given to them of the storms. Beloved husbands, fathers, brothers and sons have been lost to many families in the havoc caused by the storms in Sri Lanka this year.
This is how climatic change often affects poor families who strive through it along with their poverty and hardships.
